Second grade students are recognized for honor roll.  All students are recognized for excellent and perfect attendance.  All students are recognized on their birthdays. Students who reach grade level reading will be recognized with a special award and honored in front of their peers. Students have enrichment opportunities such as STEM, Drama, and French.  We also offer before and after school homework help. Each day students receive 30 minutes of unstructured but supervised recess. We have a special leadership club at Kling for our students called the KES (Kling Engaging Students) club. The students are selected by their teachers and peers to help make decisions for the school such as spirit days, lunch menus, and help organize special activities. These students lead our daily announcements and serve as “safety patrols” in our hallways.

Parent Programs
At Kling Elementary School, we offer many opportunities for parent involvement.  We begin the school year with Meet the Teacher and Back to School Nights for parents. We will have Family Math night in the fall (dinner is provided).  We will celebrate Dr. Seuss‘ Birthday in the spring with fun games, food, and free learning materials. All of our grade levels host a special content night in which we have over 80% attendance by families.  We have a very active PTO and encourage all to become members.
